Celebs, politicians bid adieu to Bollywood’s iconic star Rishi Kapoor

Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on Thursday morning at the HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai.

Rishi Kapoor succumbs the battle with cancer at the age of 67 after a long battle since 2018.

However, the entire Bollywood industry and cinematic artists are in greater shock as they are still coming to terms with Irrfan Khan’s demise a day before.

Celebrities, politicians mourn Rishi Kapoor’s sad demise

Number of Bollywood celebrities, politicians and Twitteraties lead tributes to the iconic star and also express condolences to his family.

Fellow actor Amitabh Bachchan shared a post on Twitter and confirmed his death news.

He wrote, “T 3517 – He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone.. just passed away.. I am destroyed!”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also pays tribute to the late versatile actor.

“Multifaceted, endearing and lively…this was Rishi Kapoor Ji. He was a powerhouse of talent. I will always recall our interactions, even on social media. He was passionate about films and India’s progress. Anguished by his demise. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti,” he wrote on Twitter.

Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed condolences to the deceased’s family.

Priyanka Chopra took to Twitter after hearing the shocking news.

She wrote, “My heart is so heavy. This is the end of an era. #Rishisir your candid heart and immeasurable talent will never be encountered again. Such a privilege to have known you even a little bit. My condolences to Neetu maam, Ridhima, Ranbir and the rest of the family. Rest in peace Sir.”

Furthermore, Iconic star Shipa Shetty also paid tribute the late legendary Rishi Kapoor.

“Waking up to a news like this is gut-wrenching! A Legendary actor, loved by millions of people around the world has just left us. Your style, brilliance, your smile & joie de vivre… will be dearly missed, Rishi ji You legacy will live for years to come.”

Talented Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu bids adieu to Rishi Kapoor, saying she will miss him a lot.

“Been trying to write something n I can’t put my mind n hands in sync. More like the heart in between is just not able to comprehend this. That laugh, that sense of humour, the honesty and even the bully he was , will be missed. No one like you.”

Vicky Kaushal pens down an emotional note at the immeasurable loss of Rishi Kapoor.

“Absolutely shattered and heart broken to wake up to the news of the loss of RishiJi, one of the liveliest persons amongst us. The last time when I met him in NY, he was fighting the battle like a boss, with a smile on his face. This is utterly tragic and incomprehensible. RIP”

Moreover, actress Sonam Kapoor is heartbroken to hear the shocking news of her uncle’s demise.

“Rest in peace Chintu uncle.. All my love to you. I’m so sorry we all couldn’t say bye properly,” she wrote.

 

Rakul Preet shocked when she heard the news. She posted, “NO NO NO!! This is heartbreaking! In loss of words. Unable to process that Rishi sir is no longer with us! It’s a huge loss to the world! May your soul RIP. You will always be remembered 2020 can’t get worse!.”

Rishi Kapoor returned to India last September as he underwent treatment for cancer in the US for almost a year.

In February, Kapoor was hospitalized twice due to his health issues.

He was Raj Kapoor‘s third born, after Randhir and later Ritu Nanda, he was older to Reema Jain and Rajeev Kapoor.

The news of Rishi Kapoor’s death just came a day after versatile actor Irrfan Khan breathed his last in Mumbai leaving the entire Indian cinema shedding tears.
