Christine Taylor says Ben Stiller was a ‘rebound’ romance

Romance between Christine Taylor, Ben Stiller was a “rebound” romance at first.
Ben made a guest appearance on his wife’s show.
He also opened up about the beginning of their relationship.

Ben directed and Christine acted in the 1999 television pilot episode of “Heat Vision and Jack,” when the couple first met. According to the star of “The Craft,” their initial encounter was fairly casual because they had both recently ended relationships.

Speaking on her podcast ‘Hey Dude … The 90s Called!’, Christine explained: “We were both each other’s, I would say, like, sort of rebound relationship a little bit.”

Ben made a guest appearance on his wife’s show and he also opened up about the beginning of their relationship, saying: “We weren’t taking it seriously … We had a fun time making the show and then Christine and I connected and then I went off to do a movie in New York and I invited her to come hang out.”

After that, Christine decided to remain the entire summer, and they started dating. One year after they initially met, in 2000, they were married and had two children together.

Ben claimed they were engaged while he was filming the 2000 film “Meet the Parents” and he observed some strange parallels with real life throughout the podcast.

Ben added: “Christine’s dad had a security company – and still does – and so it was kind of this weird parallel. He was very much like the Robert De Niro character to me.”

Christine then joked: “Dad, I know you’re listening. You were not intimidating.”
