Brian Cox temporarily assumed the role of his imposing patriarchal character Logan Roy as the cast of the popular HBO drama debuted its fourth and final season. In the award-winning drama about a family vying for control of a media empire, Cox playfully shouted while posing for shots with his fellow cast mates, using expletives exactly like Roy frequently does.

Logan will get closer to selling his business to tech mogul Lukas Matsson in season four, causing more family strife and power battles. Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Alan Ruck play Logan’s four children, who are battling for ownership of the family’s substantial media assets.

At the New York premiere, Cox told Reuters, “We’re going to see a lot of fascinating rides and it’s kind of like a roller coaster.” “I believe it’s ending in the authentic “Succession” style… People are going to adore it, in my opinion. Many American shows continue airing long after they should have ended. Our program would never experience that.

Since its first debut in 2018, “Succession,” which has received high praise from both audiences and critics, has won both Emmy Awards and Golden Globes for its screenplay and acting. Although the media magnate Rupert Murdoch’s dynasty has been linked to it, the show’s writer Jesse Armstrong insisted that it was not based on only one family.

The number of times we hear things like, “Oh, it’s based on this family,” that sometimes you haven’t even heard of, and you’re like, “Oh, it’s just like their dad and this happened,” is strange, he added. So, while occasionally we receive feedback, I’ve never heard anything come from the Murdoch family.

Although Armstrong expressed sadness about ending the show, he was adamant that he would not do so again. “In a creative sense, it was the right choice. But yes, it’s incredibly difficult for me to see the cast and crew and my fellow authors, he admitted.

“It’s about finding your alliance and figuring out, strategizing on making sure you have enough people on your side so you can see how to leverage when you go in to negotiate,” actor Alexander Skarsgard, who plays Matsson, said when asked to sum up season four.
