Oscars 2023: Who will replace Will Smith?
The Oscars 2022 incident where Will Smith hit comedian Chris Rock in the face for making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss problem is well known.
The 95th Academy Awards, which celebrate the world’s best movies of 2022, will be held in Los Angeles on Sunday (tonight)
The four acting Oscar winners from the previous year typically return to award their prizes to the winners of the following year.
Ariana DeBose, Troy Kotsur, and Jessica Chastain, the first three Oscar winners from last year, will present; however, Will Smith, the fourth winner, won’t be there because he has a 10-year ban on attending the Oscars.
Even though more than 50 celebrities are scheduled to give the awards, fans are anxious as to who will take Smith’s position.
Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Zoe Saldaa, Sigourney Weaver, John Travolta, Emily Blunt, Glenn Close, Jenifer Connelly, and Florence Pugh are among the other celebrities who will be presenting categories this year.
It’s interesting to see that Halle Berry has also been asked to speak. She is still the only person of colour to have won best leading actress at the Oscars, but Yeoh may make history by becoming the second.
Paul Dano, Andrew Garfield, Cara Delevingne, Kate Hudson, Michael B. Jordan, Jonathan Majors, Mindy Kaling, Eva Longoria, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Andie MacDowell, and Riz Ahmed are some of the other category presenters.
To deliver the awards, they will be joined by Antonio Banderas, Elizabeth Banks, Hugh Grant, Salma Hayek Pinault, Melissa McCarthy, Halle Bailey, Janelle Monáe, Questlove, Elizabeth Olsen, and Pedro Pascal.
