Renowned Pakistani actor Imran Abbas, celebrated for his performances in hit dramas like Khuda Aur Mohabbat and Dil-e-Muztar, has successfully ventured beyond Pakistan’s borders, including Bollywood and, most recently, a Punjabi film titled Jee Ve Sohneya Jee.
In a recent interview, Abbas reflected on his Bollywood opportunities and addressed misconceptions about actors working in India.
The actor revealed that he faced criticism for sharing that he was offered prominent Bollywood projects such as Aashiqui 2, PK, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi. “Many people were trolling me when I shared that I was offered projects like Aashiqui 2, PK, and Heeramandi, but they later found out that all of it was true,” Abbas clarified. “People can have a limited vision, and it was a big deal for them that someone can get those offers, but I have seen the world, and I get many such big offers.”
Addressing the narrative that Pakistani actors harbor a complex about Bollywood, Abbas firmly disagreed. “The truth is Bollywood is a much bigger industry, and we can work, learn, and collaborate with them. This will increase the quality of work in Pakistan too,” he explained. “This is not about having a complex.”
Abbas emphasized that fostering collaboration with Bollywood could enhance creative and technical standards in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, advocating for mutual growth and exchange.
