Ananya Panday recently opened up about her film choices and her relationship with her father, actor Chunky Panday, during a candid conversation on We Are Yuvaa’s YouTube channel.
Ananya revealed that she has had the most disagreements with Chunky regarding their contrasting film preferences, particularly after the failure of their film Liger, which she described as one of the biggest flops in her career. She admitted to feeling “sad and upset” over the film’s poor performance, stating, “I cursed him for making me do it.”
The Call Me Bae actress expressed her reluctance to work with her father again, saying, “We are not doing a film together again.” Chunky acknowledged their frequent arguments about the types of films she should pursue, explaining, “We have had the maximum arguments at home on what kind of films she should do.”
He emphasized that his experience from the 80s and 90s influences his suggestions. Ananya shared that while she has always admired commercial films, working on Gehraiyaan helped her explore a more creative side of acting.
She stated, “I didn’t know that there was anything else,” highlighting her growth as an actor. On the work front, Ananya was last seen in CTRL and has upcoming projects including a film based on C. Sankaran Nair’s life alongside Akshay Kumar.
