SEOUL:  K-pop sensation BTS has expanded its latest hit single “Normal” with a new music video and additional versions of the track, giving fans a fresh look at the group’s creative journey following its highly anticipated comeback.

The music video premiered exclusively on Spotify on Friday, along with three new versions of the song, including Korean-language and instrumental versions. The video is expected to be released on other platforms after the 48-hour Spotify exclusive period.

A teaser for the music video was released earlier on the YouTube channel of HYBE Labels, revealing a humorous and unexpected side of the group.

The clip shows BTS members standing together in a restroom before leader RM squeezes past them, offering fans a glimpse of the members’ casual personalities away from the stage.

The release also cleared up an online mystery surrounding a promotional campaign. Advertisements designed like sensational news reports appeared in newspapers including the San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Post, featuring an unusual image that sparked speculation among fans.

BigHit Music later confirmed that the image was actually a scene from the “Normal” music video and was part of the group’s promotional strategy for the track.

‘Normal’ expands BTS’ latest album success

The song “Normal” is featured on BTS’ fifth studio album “ARIRANG,” which was released in March and marked the group’s return after a years-long hiatus.

Described as an alternative pop track driven by powerful drum and snare sounds, “Normal” reflects on the members’ everyday experiences, personal thoughts and the meaning of ordinary life.

The music video reunites BTS with Ukrainian filmmaker Tanu Muiño, who previously directed the group’s video for “Swim.” The new visuals show the members recovering at a luxurious mansion after a night of celebration.

The track debuted at No. 41 on Billboard’s Hot 100, highlighting BTS’ continued influence in the global music market.

BTS maintains global chart dominance

BTS’ album “ARIRANG” achieved major success, spending three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and continuing to rank among the top albums in the United States.

The album’s lead single “SWIM” remains on the Billboard Hot 100, while multiple tracks from the album have also appeared on Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts.

BTS, consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, debuted in 2013 and has become one of the world’s most influential music groups.

The group is also set to perform at the FIFA World Cup halftime show, sharing the stage with global artists including Madonna, Shakira and Justin Bieber.
