Meghan Markle has praised the documentary “Cookie Queens” and shared a heartfelt message with young girls, encouraging them to “follow your gut.”
The 45-year-old Duchess of Sussex spoke openly about the documentary produced by her company during a Q&A session with children for InStyle, published Saturday. Meghan praised the girls featured in the film, describing them as “multidimensional and honest,” and encouraged young girls to “follow their instinct.” She also said the girls formed genuine friendships through the filming experience, adding, “I think we’re our own little troop!”
Directed by Alysa Nahmias, “Cookie Queens” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2026 before its theatrical release August 7. Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films worked with Archewell Productions, the media company founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to bring the documentary to audiences.
The film follows four girls competing to become the top seller in the Girl Scouts’ popular cookie-selling program, which explores the point where childhood meets ambition.
Meghan previously showed her support for the project during its Sundance premiere in January. Speaking to the audience, she said the film was “probably the cutest at the festival” while also calling it one of the most powerful and meaningful portrayals of an American tradition rooted in nostalgia.
Meghan also praised director Alysa Nahmias for showing the modern experience of girlhood and the different challenges and emotions that come with it. She credited the filmmaker with capturing the complexities of growing up as a girl while presenting the story in a fresh and modern way.
Archewell Productions, founded by Harry and Meghan in 2020, continues to work as a Netflix partner. Its projects include “Harry & Meghan,” “With Love, Meghan,” “Heart of Invictus,” “Polo” and “Live to Lead,” which features interviews with prominent leaders.
