Two Coronavirus cases reported at WHO Headquarters

The World Health Organization (WHO) spokesman said that 2 cases of novel coronavirus had surfaced at the organization’s headquarters.

The WHO based in the Geneva, is coordinating the international response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected more than 180,000 people worldwide and killed more than 7,000 across 145 countries.
“We do have two staff confirmed with symptoms of COVID-19,” Christian Lindmeier spokesman told reporters at a virtual media brief.

“This was last week, Friday and Thursday. They both have gone home. They have self-isolated. They showed symptoms.’
“Colleagues in the office have been checked and we´re waiting for further information on those. Everything so far seems OK with them.”

The WHO has started virtual press conferences to brief media on the developments about global pandemics.
In Switzerland the number of coronavirus cases jumped by nearly 1,000 cases in 24 hours to 2,200 and 14 deaths were reported.

Swiss government took emergency measures on Monday to prevent the spread of the virus in the country, banning all gatherings, deploying the military and tightening borders.
