The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has offered 124 more ventilators to the hospitals in Punjab as Covid-19 cases increased.

According to details, 70 ventilators have been given to the hospitals of Lahore. These included 20 ventilators to General Hospital, 16 to Services Hospital, 14 to Mayo Hospital, and 10 each to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Jinnah Hospital.

On the other hand, NDMA has provided 18 ventilators to Nishtar hospital in Multan, 8 machines to DHQ Hospitals in Faisalabad and Gujranwala. The authority is also providing ventilators to 11 teaching hospitals.

Earlier last year, The United States Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority, donated a shipment of 100 brand-new, state-of-the-art ventilators to support Pakistan in its fight against COVID-19.

The ventilators had arrived in Karachi and will be deployed in hospitals across Pakistan.
