Note that the Fifth World Holocaust Forum is the greatest diplomatic gathering in Israel’s history.

More than 40 VIPs were present in the event, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, US Vise President Mike Pence, the Prince of Wales, and French President Emmanuel Macon.

Prime Minister Netanyahu had said that Jewish people had “learned the lessons of the Holocaust – that we cannot take threats to annihilate us lightly; to confront threats when they are small; and above all, even though we greatly appreciate the help of our friends, to defend ourselves by ourselves”.

He also highlighted that Iran “openly seeks to develop nuclear weapons and annihilate the one and only Jewish state”.

“Israel salutes [US President Donald] Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence for confronting the tyrants of Tehran, who subjugate their people, who threaten the peace and security of the entire world,”

“I call on all governments to join efforts in confronting Iran. Israel will do whatever it must do to defend its people and the Jewish future.”
