Foreign minister of Qatar said that talks to solve two-year regional conflict has been delayed after the outbreak of diplomacy last year increased hopes the conflict was being solved.

Saudi Arabia, along with its allies the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt, had broken its trade and transport ties with Qatar in June 2017.

Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said at the Munich Security Conference, “We have always been very open to dialogue, since the start of the Gulf Cooper­ation Council (regional bloc) crisis,”

“It’s been almost three years since the crisis started. We are not the perpetrators of that crisis and we’ve been very open and clear that we are open to any genuine intention to resolve this problem.”

“We demonstrated this when there was an opening last year in November. Unfortunately, these efforts didn’t succeed and have been suspended at the beginning of January.”

Two Doha-based diplomats said that they did not see any indication that the talks could be resumed in the future following the burst of engagements at the end of 2019.

France warns UK of harsh trade negotiations after Brexit

Britain has been given a warning by France to expect a severe fight with the EU in Brexit trade negotiations.

Foreign minister of France Jean Le Drian said at a conference in Munich that Brussels would justice his stance when negotiations begin next month.

He also said that both the countries would “rip each other apart” as they tried for a favor in the negotiations.

On the other hand, the UK government has clarified that it wanted an agreement based on “friendly co-operation between sovereign equals”.
