Iran blasts dummy US aircraft carrier with missiles

Missiles have been launched by Iran at a mock-up of a US aircraft carrier in the Strait of Hormuz.

The missiles included fire so heavily that the US put two region places on alert.

The US navy condemned the “irresponsible and reckless behavior by Iran”, calling it an attempt “to intimidate and coerce”.

According to the international news agency, the mock-up is shown with dummy fighter jets on either side of its landing strip. Missiles are then launched from different angles by Iran.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards commander Major General Hossein Salami said, “What was shown today in these exercises, at the level of aerospace and naval forces, was all offensive”.

On the other hand, the US military said that American forces were being put on alert in the UAE and Qatar. 

Commander Rebecca Rebarich, the spokeswoman for the US Navy’s Bahrain-based Fifth Fleet, said, “The US Navy conducts defensive exercises with our partners promoting maritime security in support of freedom of navigation; whereas, Iran conducts offensive exercises, attempting to intimidate and coerce”.

Earlier, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei said that Tehran will not interfere in Baghdad’s relations with the US. But he warned that he will never forget the US killing of Soleimani.

According to details, Ayatollah Khamenei talked to Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhemi n the Iranian capital during his first trip abroad since taking office.

Iranian supreme leader said that US presence next door to the Islamic republic was a reason for insecurity.
