Egypt, a close ally of the UAE, welcomed the agreement to restore UAE-Israeli relations.

Reacting on Twitter, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said that the UAE-Israel peace agreement is a positive development, which is welcome.

The Egyptian president said that the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Israel are closely watching the agreement to prevent Israeli annexation of Palestinian land and peace in the Middle East and the agreement is commendable.

It should be noted that Turkey, Iran, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas have called the UAE-Israel agreement a betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

Turkish Presidential Spokesperson i̇brahim kalın said the reconciliation between Israel and the United Arab Emirates would be a dark chapter in the history of the Palestinian people and their rights.

He wrote on Twitter, “History will not forget those who betray the Palestinian people and sell out the Palestinian cause. Their miserable policies will not deter but give only strength to those who believe in justice, freedom and nobility. Turkey will continue to stand by the Palestinian people.”

Earlier, the Palestinian ambassador to the UAE is being recalled over UAE’s decision to establish diplomatic ties with Israel.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has called the move “treason.”

According to the international news agency, Abbas urged the UAE to reverse Thursday’s decision. He has also urged other Arab nations not to follow its example “at the expense of Palestinian rights.”
