China has decided to release five Indians who were detained in a region bordering Tibet earlier this month, sources reported on Saturday.

According to the details, the five Indians were Indian intelligence agents who dressed as hunters.

On Tuesday, the news of the five people gone missing from the state of Arunachal Pradesh started to emerge, however, an Indian minister said that they had been found in China as confirmed by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

Their disappearance had started a dispute among the two countries which resulted in a border confrontation that week in the western Himalayas. Both India and China accused each other of firing in the air.

During a meeting in Moscow on Thursday, Chinese State Councillor Wang Yi and Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar decided to de-escalate the border tensions.
