A Muslim elderly man, to be in his 60s was stabbed to death outside a mosque in Toronto, reported by the Canadian media on Sunday.
According to the details, the horrific incident occurred on Saturday evening in Toronto’s area of Rexdale Boulevard and Bergamot Avenue.
The man was found “without vital signs” when the paramedics reached the place of the incident.
The police said the elderly man died after he was being stabbed in the neck. They said the suspect “fled on foot”.
The victim belonged to the International Muslim Organization of Toronto. On Saturday night, the organization confirmed the news in a statement on social media.
The statement read,
“There are no words for what happened to the member of this congregation.”
It further said,
“We further encourage our community not to speculate on what happened as the investigation is ongoing. Instead, we ask that you keep our brother and his family in your prayers.”
The police are still finding the suspect however, the police said the man who stabbed the elderly Muslim man is a “slim man wearing a black hoodie and dark pants”.
