The Queen Elizabeth II has paid rich tributes to World War II Veteran Captain Sir Tom Moore passes away due to the novel coronavirus.

According to the statement by Buckingham Palace, “The Queen is sending a private message of condolence to the family of Captain Sir Tom Moore. ‘Her Majesty very much enjoyed meeting Captain Sir Tom and his family at Windsor last year. Her thoughts and those of the Royal Family are with them.’

In a statement, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson also said: ‘Captain Sir Tom Moore was a hero in the truest sense of the word. In the dark days of the Second World War he fought for freedom and in the face of this country’s deepest post war crisis he united us all, he cheered us all up, and he embodied the triumph of the human spirit.”

World War Two Veteran Captain Sir Tom Moore passed away due to the novel coronavirus on Tuesday. The news of his demise was announced on his Twitter account.

Moore was admitted to Bedford Hospital on January 31st 2021. He had been unable to be vaccinated against COVID-19 due to medication he was taking for the pneumonia

Captain Sir Tom Moore became a national hero in Britain by walking laps of his garden during last year’s coronavirus lockdown to raise funds for healthcare charities.

By the end of the feat, the War veteran had raised a record-breaking $45 million.

Moore served in India, the Burma campaign during World War II, and later became an instructor in armored warfare. After the war, he worked as managing director of a concrete company and was an avid motorcycle racer.

He and was appointed as honorary colonel of the Army Foundation College. On 17 July 2020, he was personally invested as a Knight Bachelor by the Queen at Windsor Castle.
