Russia’s defence ministry announced on Monday that four Kalibr missiles were fired from a submarine in the Black Sea to destroy military equipment of a Ukrainian mountain assault brigade, according to the TASS news agency.

It was not able to verify the report right away.

Meanwhile, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will enter its fourth month on Tuesday with no end in sight to the combat that has killed hundreds, dislocated millions, and turned cities into ruins.

In the face of escalating sanctions and a robust Ukrainian counter-offensive reinforced by Western armaments, Russia is moving forward in the east and south after abandoning its attack on the capital, Kyiv.

87 people were murdered in a Russian air attack on the town of Desna on Tuesday, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who spoke to world business leaders in Davos on Monday.
