Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officials said that the collapsed residential building in Korangi was constructed on China cutting land.

According to SBCA officials, the building was located on a welfare plot and was built on a land of the playground.

Officials said there was a risk of damage to two surrounding buildings as the building collapsed, and a technical team would inspect and give clearance.

It may be recalled that a four-storey building has collapsed in Allahwala Town area of ​​Karachi, as a result of which two people have been killed and eight injured so far while more people are feared to be buried under the rubble.

The administration says evacuation orders were issued two days ago and all but one or two families left the building.

Eyewitnesses present on the spot said that people were still inside the building. After the rains, water had accumulated in the basement of the building.
