ISLAMABAD: Army Chief and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hosted a reception for veterans on Independence Day, honoring their long standing contributions to Pakistan’s defense and recognizing their continued role in strengthening national resilience.
A large number of retired officers and soldiers attended the reception, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). During the event, Munir paid tribute to the valuable services and lifelong efforts of former servicemen in defending the country.
Munir said the experience, guidance and continued commitment of former servicemen remain a valuable institutional asset for the country. He emphasized the importance of using their experience to address challenges arising from the rapidly changing and increasingly complex security environment.
The retired officers and soldiers expressed full confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army during the reception. They also reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting the armed forces in dealing with emerging security challenges along their role in promoting national unity, peace, stability and prosperity.
Munir’s remarks highlighted the importance of the experience and guidance of former servicemen as an institutional resource, particularly as the security environment continues to become more complex and change rapidly.
