RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army successfully rescued a family trapped in severe flooding near Chakri Road, Rawalpindi, despite challenging weather conditions.
The affected family had taken shelter on the roof of their house in the village of Ladian. Responding swiftly, the army launched a helicopter rescue operation and safely evacuated all family members.
The mission was completed successfully despite adverse weather, demonstrating the Pakistan Army’s commitment to protecting lives during natural disasters.
It should be noted that over 200 millimeters of rainfall has turned streets across Rawalpindi into waterlogged pools, severely disrupting normal life in the city.
In response to the heavy downpour, local authorities have declared a rain emergency, with rescue teams and drainage operations mobilized to manage the situation and assist affected residents.
Authorities have sounded flood alarms after a significant rise in the water level of Nullah Leh, prompting emergency measures.
Residents in nearby low-lying areas have been instructed to move to safer locations as a precautionary step to avoid potential harm. Rescue teams remain on high alert, and monitoring of the situation is ongoing.
