Pakistan rejected allegations made by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah linking Pakistan to the arrests of more than 200 alleged terror operatives in India, calling the claims part of a “malicious campaign” aimed at shifting attention from India’s domestic security challenges.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan strongly rejected the allegations and accused India of using anti-Pakistan propaganda for domestic political purposes. Indian security agencies arrested more than 200 people allegedly linked to Pakistan in a crackdown across 14 Indian states on Aug. 12, according to Reuters. The arrests came three days before India’s Independence Day.
Shah alleged that those arrested were members of a group called the Shahzad Bhatti Network. He said the crackdown had stopped planned “subversive attacks.” Andrabi rejected the allegations, saying India was again using claims against Pakistan to divert attention from its internal security problems and gain domestic political support.

“At home, India is a repressive state, brutally oppressing its minorities and silencing dissent,” Andrabi said. He also accused India of “exporting terror and abetting terrorists” beyond its borders.
Andrabi said Pakistan had repeatedly shared evidence that India was involved in terrorism and destabilizing activities inside Pakistan. He also referred to Kulbhushan Jadhav, a former Indian naval officer who was convicted and remains in Pakistani custody.
Andrabi described Jadhav as proof of what Pakistan claims is India’s direct involvement in subversion and terrorism in Pakistan. Pakistan also called on the international community to examine the allegations against both countries and to take action over what it described as India’s involvement in terrorism and destabilizing activities.
