KARACHI: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi is expected to experience partly cloudy and humid weather today, with intermittent strong winds and chances of light drizzle during the morning, evening and night.

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 26.5 degrees Celsius, while the current temperature was 28 C. Humidity stood at 74%, with southwesterly winds blowing at 15 kilometers per hour, the PMD said.

The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 32 C and 34 C during the day, while humid conditions are expected to persist across the city.

LAHORE

Meanwhile, Lahore is likely to experience hot and partly cloudy weather over the next 24 hours, with conditions expected to remain generally stable.

The current temperature was recorded at 27 C, while the maximum temperature is forecast to reach 35 C. The minimum temperature is expected to remain around 28 C.

Humidity is likely to range between 74% and 78%, keeping the weather humid. Winds are currently blowing at approximately 10 kilometers per hour, with the PMD forecasting generally stable conditions across the city during the next 24 hours.

RAWALPINDI

Rain began in Rawalpindi at 4:05 a.m. and continued through the morning, with Golra receiving the highest rainfall at 61 millimeters by 7:50 a.m. Shamsabad recorded 50 mm, while Bokra received 36 mm and PMD H-8-2 recorded 35 mm.

New Katarian received 34 mm, Pirodhai 29 mm, Golmandi 26 mm and the area near Kacheri 13 mm. The basin-wide rainfall total for Rawalpindi was recorded at 41.4 mm.

Following the rainfall, water levels at key drainage points are being closely monitored. The level at Katarian stood at 14.5 feet and was showing a declining trend, while Golmandi recorded 10.5 feet and continued to rise.

A pre-alert has been issued for both Katarian and Golmandi. Authorities will issue an alert if the water level reaches 15.7 feet at Katarian or 14.1 feet at Golmandi, while officials continue to monitor conditions in the affected areas.
