Rain, windstorms and thunderstorms are expected across most parts of Pakistan over the next few days, except for most of Sindh, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The weather department has also warned of possible urban flooding in parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The PMD said moist currents from the Arabian Sea are already reaching the upper parts of the country, while moist currents from the Bay of Bengal are expected to enter the northeastern areas on Monday evening. A westerly weather system is also expected to reach the upper parts of the country by Monday night.
In Azad Kashmir, including Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur, scattered rain, windstorms and thunderstorms are expected from Monday night through Wednesday, with occasional breaks.
In KP, scattered rain, windstorms and thunderstorms, along with isolated heavy rainfall, are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Swabi, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan and Hangu from Monday night through Wednesday. Similar weather is expected in Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan beginning Tuesday.
In Punjab and Islamabad, scattered rain, windstorms and thunderstorms, accompanied by isolated heavy rainfall, are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Faisalabad, Khushab, Sargodha, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Okara and Kasur from Monday night through Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Noorpur Thal, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur are expected to receive similar weather from Tuesday through Wednesday, with occasional breaks.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, including Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shigar, rain, windstorms and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Balochistan, isolated rain, windstorms and thunderstorms are likely in the northern and northeastern districts of Zhob, Sherani, Kohlu, Musakhel, Nasirabad, Harnai, Sibi, Barkhan, Dera Bugti and Khuzdar from Tuesday night through Wednesday.
Most parts of Sindh are expected to remain hot and very humid. However, isolated rain, windstorms and thunderstorms are likely in Tharparkar, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Qambar Shahdadkot and Naushahro Feroze on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The PMD warned that strong winds and lightning could damage vulnerable structures, including solar panels, utility poles and billboards. It also said landslides are possible in vulnerable areas of upper KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday and Wednesday. Water levels may also rise in local streams and hill torrents, especially in Dera Ghazi Khan.
The weather department also warned of localized urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Nowshera, Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The PMD advised tourists and travelers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel. It also urged farmers to plan their agricultural activities according to the weather forecast.
The PMD said the current hot and humid conditions are likely to ease during the forecast period.
