LOS ANGELES: Robert Pattinson has brought the famous Twilight debate back into the spotlight after comparing his new character in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film “The Odyssey“ to Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black.
While promoting The Odyssey, Pattinson said he sees similarities between his character Antinous and Jacob from the popular vampire franchise, “I think they will be rooting for him,”adding that he often compares the character to Jacob from Twilight.
Pattinson plays Antinous, one of Penelope’s determined suitors in The Odyssey, alongside Anne Hathaway. He joked about his character attempt to win her attention, saying his role involves helping her move on from the past.

The actor also revisited the long running “Team Edward vs. Team Jacob” debate during interview with Zendaya while promoting their film “The Drama”.
When asked to choose a side, Zendaya quickly supported Team Edward, saying she had always preferred the character.
Pattinson responded with humor, joking that “no one’s Team Jacob” and suggesting the famous rivalry was largely a marketing strategy.
The comments sparked fresh discussion among Twilight fans, many of whom still debate the romance triangle between Edward Cullen, Bella Swan and Jacob Black nearly two decades after the first film’s release.
Pattinson’s latest remarks come ahead of The Odyssey, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17. He will also reunite with Zendaya in Dune: Part Three later this year.
Despite the years passing since the Twilight series ended, the team Edward and team Jacob rivalry continues to attract attention from fans around the world.
