Tom Cruise is reportedly struggling emotionally after his daughter, Suri Cruise, changed her surname to Suri Noelle, a move that has sparked fresh online interest among the fans and social media in the longtime distance between the Hollywood star and his only biological child.
According to Radar Online, Suri used her mother Katie Holmes middle name, as her surname. Pennsylvania voter registration records reportedly list her as Suri Noelle. This decision has deeply affected Cruise, saying the Mission: Impossible star is “heartbroken” and having a difficult time.
The reports also alleged that Cruise has attempted to reconnect with Suri through private channels over the years but has been unsuccessful, but these claims have not been independently confirmed.
Cruise, one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars, has spent decades at the center of major film franchises. He became an international box-office favorite through movies such as Top Gun, Jerry Maguire, Minority Report and the Mission: Impossible series, while continuing to perform many of his own action stunts.
Despite his fame, Cruise has largely kept his relationship with Suri out of the public spotlight. “Tom doesn’t talk openly about Suri. It’s too painful and he’s also very respectful of her privacy,” the report mentioned.
Suri has largely lived away from her father since her parents divorce in 2012. Following the split, Holmes received primary custody of their daughter, and Suri grew up largely outside the intense Hollywood spotlight surrounding her famous parents.
Suri has since pursued her own interests and has shown an interest in acting, following a path that could eventually bring her into the entertainment industry. However, neither Cruise nor Suri has publicly commented on the reported change or the claims about Cruise’s reaction.
