Sindh Provincial cabinet has decided to surrender to services of the Provincial Police Chief Dr. Kaleem Imam to the federal government, here is brief overview of his life and career.
Dr. Kaleem Imam is one of the most decorated and professional police officer having served in high profile appointments nationally and internationally.
He was born in Karachi in year 1962. He is amongst the most educated officers in the police department.
Dr. Kaleem Imam holds a PhD degree in Politics and International Relations from the International Islamic University, Islamabad.
He also obtained LLM in Human Rights from the University of London’s prestigious School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), in addition to a Master’s degree in Philosophy.
Dr. Imam is also associated with National and International publications. He is a regular speaker at various training institutes and at public forums.
Dr. Kaleem Imam – a top Cop
Kaleem Imam has worked on high-profile posts during his career. He has served as SSP Sibi, Nasirabad, Quetta and Islamabad twice, Deputy Director FIA immigration at Islamabad airport.
He also worked as Chief security officer to the Prime Minister, Deputy Director General, Intelligence Bureau, Director, and National Police Bureau besides being Inspector General Islamabad.
He has also served as Inspector General, National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP).
Federal government has appointed him as Inspector general of Sindh on September 13, 2018, in a major reshuffle.
Internationally, he also held the post of Deputy Police Commissioner (Operations) for the African Union – United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) Sudan.
He has also served in UN peacekeeping operations in Mozambique and Liberia.
Kaleem Imam has been conferred with three UN peace medals, Quaid Azam Police Medals, President Police Medals and Tamagha-i-Imtiaz for his distinguished services.
