Voices are being raised from all over the world, including the United States, against the brutal murder of a black citizen George Floyd in the United States and now the sports community is recording their protest.

Sportsmen around the world are raising voices in favour of George Floyd, and now cricketers, especially West Indian cricketers, are protesting and raising their voices in favour of the black American citizen.

Former West Indies captains Darren Sammy and Chris Gayle condemned the killing of George Floyd who strangled on the street of Minnesota (northern regions of the United States) by a police officer while the man was saying in a low voice. “I can’t breathe, don’t kill me.”

Darren Sammy said in a Tweet, “Right now if the cricket world not standing against the injustice against people of colour after seeing that last video of that foot down the next of my brother you are also part of the problem.”

Sammy further said, “ICC and all the other boards are you guys not seeing what’s happening to ppl like me? Are you not gonna speak against the social injustice against my kind. This is not only about America. This happens every day #BlackLivesMatter now is not the time to be silent. I wanna hear u.”

Former WestIndies Skipper and mentor of Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Zalmi said, “For too long black people have suffered. I’m all the way in St Lucia and I’m frustrated If you see me as a teammate then you see #GeorgeFloyd Can you be part of the change by showing your support. #BlackLivesMatter.”
