LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced a Bakra Mandi app for purchasing cattle on Eid-ul-Adha.

According to the details, sacrificial animals can be purchased with a single click through the ‘Bakra Mandi’ app introduced by the Punjab government.

The app will list other valuable details including photos, age, weight, breed and price of the cattle, keeping in mind that the user will choose the cattle according to his status.

The Punjab government introduced the facility of online purchase of cattle in view of the pandemic and appealed to the citizens to understand the urgency of the time and avoid going to the market.

Note that the Punjab government had two days ago issued a notification to extend the coronavirus lockdown for another 15 days, after which the lockdown would be effective till July 30.

According to the notification, all educational institutions, wedding halls, restaurants and cinema halls across the province will remain closed while any social and religious gatherings and sports activities will not be allowed.

The notification issued by the Punjab Health Minister said that the cattle market would be set up two and a half kilometres away from the city limits, where special parking would be provided while separate entrances and exits would be made for the citizens.

The government has directed the citizens going to the cattle market to take special care of the SOPs, those who have signs of corona should not go to the market while children and the elderly will also be barred from entering the market.
