ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has handed over a list of “most wanted terrorists” from the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from the war-torn neighboring countries to the Afghan Taliban, as Islamabad prepares to take strong action against the militant group.

In addition, Afghan Taliban leader Haibatullah Akhundzada is said to have formed a three-member committee to look into the complaints of Islamabad that the TTP was exploiting Afghanistan to plan cross-border terrorist strikes.

The list was recently shared with Afghan Taliban leadership after they took control of Kabul.

“We have taken up the issue with them [Afghan Taliban]. We have given them a list of wanted TTP terrorists operating from Afghanistan,” according to a senior Pakistani official.

Pakistan expected the new government by the Afghan Taliban to take action against the TTP, according to the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Despite the fact that the official did not reveal the list, it is widely assumed that Pakistan was seeking extradition or action against the TTP’s leader and other top commanders.
