Fully vaccinated travelers, as well as those who have recovered from the COVID 19, are currently allowed to enter Latvia.

Such people can enter Latvia without undergoing a testing process or quarantine requirement, if they are not travelling from those countries that are severely affected by the virus.

“Non-vaccinated or non-recovered travelers entering Latvia will be asked to show proof of a negative PCR test performed no earlier than 72 hours or a negative rapid antigen test performed no earlier than 48 hours before boarding or crossing the Latvian border,” notes a statement published by Reopen – the official website of the European Union, which provides information on the current travel restrictions amid COVID-19.

Latvia, which is located in northern Europe, is famous for its 12,000 rivers and 3,000 tiny lakes, making it a dream destination for international travelers. Art Nouveau architecture, national parks, and distinctive castles and palaces are among the country’s other attractions.

The spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, on the other hand, temporarily stopped travel, especially for non-essential reasons.

According to estimates released by Latvian Public Broadcasting, the country was capable of providing 13,000 beds in 2019; however, due to COVID-19, that number fell to 9,000 in 2020. Simultaneously, the total number of visitors accommodated by hotels reduced from 2,393,000 to 1,113,000.
