Pakistanis, Kashmiris on both sides of LoC observe ‘Black Day’ today
Pakistanis and Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the world are observing ‘Black Day’ on Wednesday to register their protest against the illegal occupation of the territory by India on this day in 1947.
Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, in his statement in Srinagar, termed October 27 as the darkest day in the history of Kashmir when Indian forces occupied the territory against the will of the Kashmiri people.
He said that it was a slur on the face of Indian democracy and a big question mark on the credibility, relevance, purpose and existence of the United Nations, the Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.
October 27 marks a grave human tragedy in the Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) when Indian forces reached Srinagar to occupy, subjugate, oppress, and terrorise the locals.
On Tuesday, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Mahaz-e-Azadi Chairman Muhammad Iqbal Mir, and Ghulam Nabi Waseem of Tehreek-e-Istiqlal, in their separate messages, had urged people to observe a ‘Black Day’ today. They wanted people to give a clear message to the world that Kashmiris want the right to self-determination and settlement of the dispute as per the resolutions of the United Nations (UN).
The Kashmiri leaders had also expressed their concern over the recent killing of a civilian and prisoner by Indian forces and urged the UN to take notice and stop the ongoing genocide of the Kashmir people in IIOJK perpetrated by Indian troops and the Modi regime.
A day earlier, the Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Afridi had also announced that Pakistan would observe a ‘Black Day’ on October 27 against Indian barbarism in the occupied territory.
Protest marches, rallies and seminars will be held in Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Srinagar and other parts of the IIOJK to condemn the Indian invasion as well as revocation of the special status of Kashmir by the Modi-led fascist regime.
