PM Imran Khan orders reopening of 2,549 complaints filed with PMDU

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday ordered the reopening of 2,549 resolved department cases filed in the PM’s Performance Delivery Unit (PMDU).

In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister Office (PMO) said that the PMDU will open 83,741 cases and assign competent officers to look into them.

It added that 43,352 complaints of 773 federal departments will be reopened. While 40,415 complaints of the provincial governments will be re-assigned to 2,450 departments.

The PM office shared that 3,181 complaints of the Islamabad Electric Supply Company, which was the highest at the federal level, will be investigated again.

At the provincial level, 1,606 complaints of Punjab highways department, 412 of the Peshawar Development Authority in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 874 complaints of “KWSP”, and 130 complaints of Balochistan’s secondary education department will be investigated.

The PMDU assured that it will provide “every possible solution” to the public grievances.

What is PMDU?

The PMDU was established in 2013 on the directions of PM Imran Khan a “vision to promote citizen-centric and participatory governance”.

“The primary objective of the unit is to provide citizens’ an opportunity to seamlessly communicate with all government entities and have their issues resolved with priority, in accordance with the vision of the government,” reads the PMDU website.
