Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa assured the European Union (EU) envoy to Pakistan that Islamabad “values its relations” with the countries in the regional bloc, said the military’s media wing in a statement.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that EU Ambassador to Pakistan Androulla Kaminara called on COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa today.

The military’s media wing said that the two officials discussed “matters of mutual interests, regional security situation including current situation of Afghanistan and bilateral cooperation with EU”.

“Pakistan values its relations with EU countries and we earnestly look forward to enhance mutually beneficial multi-domain relations based on common interests,” the army chief was quoted by the ISPR.

The military’s media wing shared that the visiting official lauded Pakistan for its role in Afghanistan and “efforts for regional stability”. She also pledged that the EU will play its “role for further improvements in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels”.
