Longest lunar eclipse of this century to take place on November 19

The longest and the most awaited lunar eclipse of this century is to take place on November 19, 2021. In two weeks from now, the planet Earth will move between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow over the latter.

The celestial event will happen around 11:00 am (PKT), as Earth will obscure around 97% of the moon from the sunrays, according to NASA. While hiding almost all of the moon from the sunlight, the moon will take on a reddish hue.

NASA says, the partial lunar eclipse will last 3 hours and 28 minutes, longer than any eclipse between 2001 and 2100. Moreover, it will be seen only in countries where the moon is above the horizon. The entire event will be easily viewed by all of the Americans as it will be visible in all parts of the 50 US states.
