The Sindh government has completed the process of launching the Sindh Youth Card, describing it as a major initiative for young people across the province. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is expected to officially launch the card in the last week of August.
Sindh Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar said the government finalized the Sindh Youth Card under the special directives of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to support the welfare and development of young people.
He said that in the first phase, 100,000 young people ages 15 to 29 from all 30 districts of Sindh will receive the card. Through the initiative, they will have access to better opportunities in education, employment, skills development and self-reliance.
The minister said the Sindh Youth Card will provide scholarships for higher education at universities, opportunities for advanced studies in Pakistan and abroad, interest-free loans, financial assistance, world-class skills training, discounts on local transportation and train travel, and priority access to various public and private services.
He added that the registration process will be fully online and simple, making it easier for young people from every district of Sindh to apply for and benefit from the program.
Mahar said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision is to reach young people who previously had little or no access to government services and provide them with equal opportunities for progress.
He also said only people holding a Sindh domicile will be eligible for the Sindh Youth Card.
The minister said the Sindh Youth Card will be issued through Jazz Bank, while details of the registration process and other related information will be announced soon.
