The much-needed step of delivering high-speed internet would be done soon in Chitral, Kaghan, and other tourist spots in the northern provinces of Pakistan.

Haris Mehmood Chaudhry, the CEO of Universal Fund, stated that high-speed internet will be available in Chitral, Naran, Kaghan, Neelum Valley, and surrounding areas within six months.

After a year, several sections of Balochistan, including Gwadar and Panjgur, will have access to high-speed internet.

Fiber optic construction has also begun in seven tribal areas, according to Haris Mehmood, with 900 kilometres of fibre optic cable being built in Khyber, Kurram, and Mohmand.

Theft of batteries from remote tower generators is a severe impediment to the task. The solar system, on the other hand, provides the basic power supply to the USF-subsidized towers.

Syed Amin-ul Haq, the Information Technology Minister, announced in September that the high-speed internet and communications project would cost roughly PKR31 billion and would be completed soon.

The Minister also discussed the government’s ambitions to implement 5G technology by December 2022. The government was working on a scheme called “Smart Phones for All,” which would provide 220 million Pakistanis access to smartphones.

High-speed internet in Pakistan’s northern regions would significantly boost the tourism industry and provide tourists with a better experience.
