Samiya Mumtaz is regarded as one of Pakistan’s theatrical industry’s most gifted and educated actors. She chooses her projects extremely carefully, and the ones she picks always end up being great hits—not just because they contain pointless drama, but also because they are incredibly original and new. She recently appeared in two dramas that were not your typical saas-bahu tales: Dil Na Umeed To Nahi and Sang e Mah. She made an impression on us in both, and right now she is relaxing on her farm.
Samiya Mumtaz mostly performed in theatre, and she entered the television industry much later since she had little interest in it. She really began hosting a programme, where Umera Ahmed, whose popular book Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan was set to be dramatised, first caught her attention. Producer Humayun Saeed received her recommendation for Samiya for the lead part.
When Samiya received the job offer, she was not even aware of Humayun’s existence. She genuinely questioned Nadia Jamil about accepting the job. Humayun and Umera are both well-known figures, and Nadia advised her to say yes right away. She gave her advice on how to charge for dramas as well. The rest, as they say, is history.
Samiya used to be recognised in public, which she wasn’t used to, as the drama went on to become a huge success. She initially began to blend in, but she soon understood that this is not a permanent way to live. This is what she revealed regarding the impact Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan’s success had on her life.
