In a highly anticipated announcement, private organizers in Pakistan are getting ready to start booking slots for Hajj 2024, the sacred pilgrimage journey. Led by Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, the PM’s aide on Religious Affairs, the news was revealed during a significant press conference with the Hajj Organizers Association of Pakistan (HOAP).

Starting from Friday, both local and international pilgrims will have the opportunity to reserve their spots for this revered journey, with bookings open until February 25. There’s a chance of the deadline being extended by another month, as hinted by Ashrafi, thanks to the private Hajj organizers’ platform.

With a quota of 89,604 pilgrims, including 44,802 slots allocated for the Sponsorship Hajj Scheme, the stage is set for an incredible journey of faith. Ashrafi emphasized the importance of assisting Pakistani overseas pilgrims in smoothly transferring their funds through local banks, suggesting the use of International Bank Account Numbers (IBAN).

A helpline has been set up by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and HOAP to provide support for pilgrims around the clock. Thanks were given to both the Pakistani and Saudi Arabian governments for their preparations, ensuring top-notch facilities for pilgrims’ comfort.

In a new approach, each Haj organizer will oversee a smaller group of 500 pilgrims instead of the previous 2,000, ensuring a more personalized experience. This collaboration between the government and private sector also secures job opportunities for Hajj organizers.

HOAP has implemented a strong accountability system within private Hajj organizers to promptly address grievances and impose penalties for misconduct, prioritizing pilgrim welfare.

Additionally, plans for a comprehensive training program for pilgrims nationwide were unveiled by HOAP Chairman Jamal Khan Tarakai. This initiative aims to prepare intending pilgrims for performing their religious rites comfortably upon reaching the Kingdom, enhancing their spiritual journey.
