ISLAMABAD: After the blasts outside the election offices in two districts of Balochistan, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has directed to keep security on high alert in all four provinces.
Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja called the four Chief Secretaries and IGs and instructed them to keep security on high alert in all provinces.
The Chief Election Commissioner directed that the deployment of security personnel should be completed as soon as possible, and security should be provided to the offices of voters, District Returning Officers (DROs) and Assistant Returning Officers(AROs).
Apart from this, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has expressed sorrow and regret over the incidents of terrorism in Balochistan and has directed measures for immediate redressal of such incidents.
It should be noted that a day before the general elections, two blast took place outside the election offices in two districts of Balochistan, as a result of which a total of 24 people were killed.
In Balochistan, the first blast took place in Khanazai area of Pishin district in which 12 people were killed while the second blast took place outside the office of JUI-F in Qila Saifullah in which 12 people were killed.
More than 50 people were also injured in two separate bomb blasts in Balochistan.
