Federal Govt forms Digital Pakistan Committee
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has formed the Digital Pakistan Committee and appointed Tania Edros as convener of the committee.
With the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Ministry of Information Technology has issued a notification according to which Tania Edros has again become a part of the Digital Pakistan Committee.
According to the notification, Minister of State for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja will head the committee. Tania Edros has been appointed as the convener of the committee.
The Secretary of the Ministry of IT is also included in the committee. The committee will make recommendations regarding digital vision in Pakistan.
It should be noted that Tania Edros has also been the former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant for Digital Pakistan, but she resigned after allegedly criticizing her dual citizenship (Canadian).
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the economic stability was a biggest challenge for the country at the moment that could be overcome with the coordinated efforts of the federation and the provinces.
“We should work together to serve the country and for the development of the provinces as with the joint efforts we can solve problems of the people of Pakistan,” the PM said in his remarks at meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and his cabinet here at the CM House.
