
Taliban and Pakistani firing and cross-border attacks from Afghanistan, the Pakistan Army launched a swift and effective counter-operation and has taken control of more than 19 border posts inside Afghan territory, military sources said.`
According to security officials, militants linked to the Afghan Taliban attacked a Pakistani check post in the Zhob sector, briefly overrunning it and raising an Afghan flag. Pakistani forces mounted an immediate response, retaking the post and destroying an armored vehicle used by the attackers.
Sources said the clash caused heavy casualties among the attackers; many fled the scene or were killed, and most of the contested posts are now either empty or under Pakistani control.
The military further reported that multiple Afghan border positions fired on Pakistan along the Kurram frontier. In response, Pakistani forces applied decisive force and destroyed the targeted Afghan posts. Videos circulating on social media reportedly show smoke and fires rising from those positions.

Security officials also disclosed that a location identified as “Durrani Camp‑2,” situated on Afghan soil, was being used as a launch pad for terrorist operations into Pakistan. The camp was targeted and rendered inoperative during the response.
Dozens of Taliban fighters and foreign militants present at the site were reportedly killed in the operation, according to the sources was also razed to the ground.
Afghan soldiers fled the site, leaving behind several bodies, when security forces struck an Afghan post in Kunar. In Chagai, Pakistani strikes reportedly killed several militants and pounded hostile checkpoints into ruins.
Pakistan, the sources noted, had repeatedly warned Afghanistan against allowing its territory to be used for attacks against Pakistan. After continued violations, Pakistani forces say their operation was intended to send a firm message that any aggression will receive a robust and decisive response.
