Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah chairs a special meeting in Karachi as rain warnings issued by Met department.

According to the details, the meeting was called to discuss the upcoming rains in Karachi and encroachment.

CM Sindh has ordered all the provincial departments to ready themselves as more torrential rains are expected to fall in the provincial capital.

CM Sindh also said that he will visit Hyderabad today. More hard work is required. Inform commissioners of Hyderabad, Thatta and Badin about the upcoming emergency situations.

Provincial minister for local bodies Nasir Shah, advisor Murtaza Wahab, acting chief secretary Muhammad Waseem, chairperson P&E Naheed Shah, Advocate General, Principal secretary to CM Sajid Jamal Abro, Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shehelwani, Secretary local bodies Khalid Haider Shah and Secretary transport Abbas Detho were present in the meeting.

Murad Ali Shah ordered minister Nasir Shah to request commissioner Karachi, KMCs, DMCs, and all assistant commissioners to ready themselves for the upcoming rains.

All relevant departments must be on the field to make sure rains does not cause any havoc. Make sure the planning is done properly, he added.

Previously, Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur are expected to receive rainfall on August 10 and 11, according to the Flood Forecasting Division of the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

South Baluchistan, and South Punjab are expected to have heavy rain.

The rain is expected just before Eid-ul-Adha.

Pakistan will celebrate Eid on August 12.

Pakistan’s government has announced four holidays for Eid-ul-Adha from August 12 to August 15.

The four days from Monday to Thursday have been declared public holidays.

The notification said that Saturday, August 17, will be a working day.

But, latest weather advisory has forecast downpours in several parts of Pakistani due to low pressure system.

According to the report, a low pressure system has formed over north which is likely to move westward and reach Indian Rajasthan on evening/night of August 8.

This system is likely to produce widespread rains with scattered heavy falls, in Sindh from evening/night of August 9 and on August 10, 11 in Karachi.

Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated to commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

In line with the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), Muslims across the world slaughter animals as a sacrifice for Allah.

The meat of sacrificed animals is distributed among relatives and the poor.
