5 killed, 20 injured in Bahawalnagar road accident

At least five people were killed and 20 others wounded when a bus overturned in Latifabad area of Bahawalnagar district here on Saturday.

According to rescue sources, the accident took place owing to poor visibility caused by fog engulfing plains of Punjab province.

The injured immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention, sources said.

The identities of those killed and injured in the road mishap could not be ascertained immediately.

Fog grips parts of Punjab, other provinces

Parts of Punjab province and Upper Sindh as well as a few districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) remained under the grip of dense fog.

The fog caused poor visibility and made conditions difficult for driving.

Poor visibility also caused scores of flights to divert in the region.

Moderate to dense fog reported in Sukkur, Larkana, Rohri, Padidan and Jacobabad districts of upper Sindh.

Minimum temperature in Karachi will remain between 09 – 11º Celsius today.

Maximum temperature in the metropolis will remain between 25 – 27º Celsius.

While, humidity will be 40-50 percent in the morning and 15-25 percent in the evening.

The cold and dry conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of the country.

There isolated chances of snowfall at high mountains in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The night temperatures remained below normal in most of the areas earlier this week.

Earlier, a man died and two women injured in a road accident in Karachi.

According to the details, the accident occurred near Baloch Bridge at Shahrah-e-Faisal.

The accident results when two high-speed vehicles crashed with each other.

According to rescue sources, the man died on the spot and the injured women taken to hospital.

Police officials told that the incident had occured due to high speed.
