General (r) Musharraf can surely never be a traitor: ISPR

DG Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) tweeted the press release about the statement on decision by special court about General Pervez Musharraf, Retired.

According to the details DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said, that there is severe anger and frustration in the forces of Pakistan over the decision of the Special Court, General Pervez Musharraf cannot be a traitor.

The press release also said, am ex-Army Chief, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committrr and President of Pakistan, who has served the country for 40 years, fought wars for the defense of the country can surely never be a traitor.

The ISPR spokesperson said “due legal process seems to have been ignored including constitution of special court denial of fundamental right of self defence, undertaking individual specific proceedings and concluding the case in haste”.

He also said the armed forces of Pakistan expect that “justice will be dispensed in line with Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”

The three judges bench of the special court headed by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth and comprising Justice Nazar Akbar of the Sindh High Court and Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court announced the verdict.

Pervez Musharraf sentenced to death

The former military chief Parvez Musharraf is currently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He was admitted to a hospital following deterioration of his health earlier this month.

In a video statement from his hospital bed, he had called the treason trial “absolutely baseless”.
