Four-year old girl dies after she fell from Islamabad airport’s 3rd floor

A four years old girl died on Monday after falling from third floor of Islamabad airport while playing on Monday.

As per details, the incident took place at the third floor of the Islamabad airport where a four-year-old girl who came to the airport with her parents.

Sources said, the girl was playing at the 3rd floor.

She was rushed to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in critical condition, but she succumbed to her injuries.

PIMS spokesperson said, the girl brought dead to the hospital.

“She died on the spot due to severe head injuries”, he continued.

In 2018, a passenger boarding bridge had collapsed at the Islamabad International Airport, however no serious damage reported.

According to reports, an unidentified man injured after the aerobridge collapsed at the airport.

The new airport inaugurated on May 1, 2018, after months of delay.

The new airport is located 30km away from central Islamabad, and its construction work had started in April 2007.

Earlier, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi inaugurated new Islamabad International Airport, after days of delays.

According to Civil Aviation Authority, first incoming flight of Pakistan International Airlines came from Karachi.

While, first flight of the national airline departed for Karachi at 12.30 p.m.

New Islamabad International Airport spans over an area of 4238 acres of land.

It is the first green field airport of the country.

The airport equipped with latest technology, says the CAA.

It has a passenger friendly terminal, two runways, three taxiways and a cargo apron which can accommodate large and small aircrafts.

The airport has a modular design which enables it to handle nine million passengers and 50,000 metric tons of cargo initially.
