Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Boeing 777 planes will soon be installing new In-flight Entertainment Systems (IFE) for modest cost of Rs 700 million.

According to the details, the IFE system will help PIA to compete on its long haul flights to Europe & in time to United States.

Absence of IFI systems had badly affected PIA’s revenues and IFE system will help to improve PIA’s image and increase its revenues.

The installation of the system will also help PIA to compete with best carrier companies of the world, such as western and Middle Eastern airlines.

The in-flight entertainment system will also enhance the capabilities of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Earlier, PIA signed a contract with M/s Aviation Avionics, a native firm, producing customized In-flight Entertainment System.

It should be noted that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other private airlines have increased their fares for the domestic flights at the beginning of the new year.

As per the revision, one-way trip from Karachi to Lahore, Islamabad will cost more than Rs 35,000. According to sources, fares from Lahore to Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad and Rahim Yar Khan have been increased by Rs 10,000 to Rs15,000.

Similarly, the private airlines are charging Rs 36,000 for flights bound to Rahim Yar Khan Faisalabad and Islamabad.

Meanwhile, a sudden increase in fares of PIA and private airlines caused difficulties for the people who have planned their journeys following winter vacations.
