Hollywood actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger has invited Prime Minister Imran Khan to join the Austrian World Summit.

Dr Arsalan Khalid, the Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Digital Media,  tweeted a video with a caption “World is recognizing Pakistan’s efforts to save the world from the threat of climate change. Prime Minister Imran Khan being invited to join the Austrian World Summit to inspire other world leaders to join the fight against climate change”.

The title of the video was “an Invitation to PM Imran Khan by Arnold Schwarzenegger to Austrian World Summit.”

The Austrian World Summit will commence in  Vienna to review the processes to safeguard the environment and to devise and discuss new avenues and strategies to reduce global emissions.

The summit would call the world leaders to join the fight against climate change.

Earlier while talking to United Nation’s Climate Action Summit at the UN”s New York headquarters Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan is taking action aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions that fuel climate change.

“We are raising our ambition and acting in ways to help lower world Green House Gas numbers,” he added.

PM Imran Khan also referred to the success of his government’s “Billion Tree Tsunami” project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and said that now work had begun to plant 10 billion trees across Pakistan in the next four years.

 

The prime minister pointed out “Pakistan’s contribution to global Green House Gases (GHG) was miniscule — less than 1% — yet, the impact of climate change on Pakistan is far greater.”
