Family cases, including khula, divorce and child custody, have risen sharply in Karachi following a spat between husband and wife.
According to the reports, divorce, domestic disputes have increased in Karachi during the last one and a half years and 14,943 cases have been filed in the city court.
More than 2,000 women took divorced from their husbands in the past year, and more than 2,100 children have lost the love and affection of their parents.
According to court records, 14,943 cases of family nature were registered in the city court during the last one and a half years while 4,752 such cases were disposed of during the last one and a half years.
The report said that 11,143 cases were registered in the four districts of the city court in 2019, while 3,800 such cases were registered in the first three months of this year.
It should be noted that due to the influence of Western civilization, unfortunately, the divorce rate in our society has reached a dangerous level compared to the past and it has become a social problem which is eroding the ideal family system in our Islamic society.
According to law experts, the biggest reason for khula and divorce is intolerance. Under Section 10 (4) of the Family Courts Act, October 2005, hundreds of women are being released from the marital bond every day due to the divorce process.
Parents who come to the court to meet the children at the hearing of the cases say that it is anyone’s fault but it affects the personalities of the children the most.
A few months ago Prime Minister Imran Khan blamed Hollywood and Bollywood for the increasing number of divorces in Pakistan.
On January 19th, the Prime Minister hosted a social media influencers gathering at his home in Bani Gala where he made this statement about Pakistan’s divorce rate.
