Leader of the opposition Shehbaz Sharif criticized the federal government today (Jun 12) for not increasing salaries and pensions of government employees in the recent Budget.

According to the details, the government has announced its second annual budget in which the defence budget has been increased by 12% but there is no relief for the government employees in the budget.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif has rejected the second federal budget presented by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government termed it as anti-people and this would increase unemployment in the country.

Leader of the opposition further said that the government has not increased the salaries and pensions because of IMF’s pressure which is brutality.

He also said that this is not the budget, but a prescription for destruction.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has rejected the second federal budget presented by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

PPP leader Naveed Qamar said that due to the reduction in the purchasing power of the common man due to inflation, it was expected that wages would increase.

Naveed Qamar said that the government while showing austerity in the budget, did not give any relief to the people.
